In konkreten Fällen wird konsequenterweise angesichts realer Verhältnisse oft eine <a href="St%C3%B6rungstheorie" title="Störungstheorie">Störungstheorie</a> angewendet, z. B. die <a href="St%C3%B6rungstheorie_(Quantenmechanik)" title="Störungstheorie (Quantenmechanik)"> quantenmechanische Störungstheorie</a>, die anhand von „kleinen Systemparametern entwickelt“ wurde, oder die <a href="St%C3%B6rungsrechnung" class="mw-redirect" title="Störungsrechnung">Störungsrechnung</a> für <a href="Bahnst%C3%B6rung" title="Bahnstörung">Bahnstörungen</a> in der <a href="Astronomie" title="Astronomie">Astronomie</a>. Störungen haben aber nicht nur technisch-fachliche Auswirkungen:

</p><p>In der <a href="Systemtheorie" title="Systemtheorie">Systemtheorie</a> und dem <a href="Konstruktivismus_(Philosophie)" title="Konstruktivismus (Philosophie)">Konstruktivismus</a> wurde der Begriff „Störung“ vom Biologen <a href="Humberto_Maturana" class="mw-redirect" title="Humberto Maturana">Humberto Maturana</a> als eigenständiger Fachbegriff eingeführt, um darauf hinzuweisen, dass Störungen auch <i>positive</i> Auswirkungen auf Systeme haben können.
